Abstract
The overall aims of the study were to assess the degree of technological competence in Mauritian industries. The outputs of the study include assessments of the current level of technology in the country, of the mechanisms of obtaining technology, of information channels for securing new technology, and of how technology assessment and forecasting are being carried out. The study also aims at detennining the strength of the Research and Development system in the country, and at identifying the technological gap between existing technology and that which is available on the world market.
