Title
Scaling CarbInsulinAssist APP to a Full-Fledged Digital Diabetes Management Solution for PLWT1D integrating laboratory testing for accurate macronutrient data of widely consumed foods across Mauritius
CarbinsulinAssist, partially funded by the MRIC Innovation Boost Grant 2024, was developed as an MVP to provide precise insulin dosage calculations for individuals with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) based on macronutrient recognition and customized carbohydrate counting.
This proposal aims to extend the MVP into a full-fledged, implementation-ready mobile application, integrating advanced security features, localized food data, user adoption strategies, and new functionalities to improve self-management of T1D in Mauritius.
A key component of this phase will be the development of a local street food database through laboratory testing to ensure accurate macronutrient data for widely consumed foods across Mauritius.
We seek funding from MRIC's Innovation Boost Grant scheme to complete development, enhance features, and support real-world deployment.
