This study investigates authorship patterns and the relationship between gender of authors and methodological approaches used in Annals of Tourism Research (ATR). Although there is a clear dominance of male authorship in the articles published in ATR in the time period examined (1990-2015), a growth in female authorship over time is observed. The results also demonstrate that the increasing presence of female authors is positively associated with the number of published articles based on qualitative methodologies.
