The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between information search behavior, destination image and future behavioral intentions of tourists. A questionnaire was designed, pretested and
administered to a sample of 150 tourists visiting Mauritius. Results indicated that online information search significantly impacted on offline information search which was also found to be a significant predictor of
destination image. Destination image attributes and offline information search significantly predicted future behavioral intentions of tourists. The research retained four hypotheses out of six. The findings can
support the development and formulation of tourism and travel strategies to enhance and improve communication and marketing
efforts with the aim to diversify the tourism industry of Mauritius.
